Walla Walla has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Kennewick Lions at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Walla Walla focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
Walla Walla struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Riverhawks had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. The contest between Walla Walla and the Riverhawks wasn't particularly close, with the Blue Devils falling 66-51.
Walla Walla's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Cami Martin, who scored 19 points along with four steals, and Miriam Hutchens who scored 16 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Jailyn Davenport, who scored seven points.
In what's become a running theme this season, Kennewick gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They put the hurt on Richland with a sharp 66-42 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Kennewick.
Walla Walla's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Kennewick, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.
Walla Walla came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lions in their previous matchup back in January, sneaking past 51-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Walla Walla since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
