Even though the Denver City Mustangs have not done well against the Dimmitt Bobcats recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Denver City walked away with a 45-37 victory over Dimmitt. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Denver City.
Dimmitt lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mario Lopez, who scored six points along with four blocks. Those four blocks set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Tony Salazar, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Denver City's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-9. As for Dimmitt, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Brownfield the next time they take the court. Denver City will head out to face Brownfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Dimmitt will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
