Bryce Hinsdale was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Hinsdale was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Hinsdale is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, Tate Catanese was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Meanwhile, Pine Valley Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Westfield, falling 13-3.
Pine Valley Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camryn Slade, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that Slade has hit this season.
Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama pushed their record up to 2-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Pine Valley Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
