Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Satellite Scorpions walked away with it. They blew past the Mustangs 83-51 at home on Tuesday. Satellite's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Leading Satellite to victory were Zander Tantius and Michael Otero. Tantius scored 23 points, while Otero went 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 3 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Otero has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Knight, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The win (which was Satellite's seventh in a row) raised their record to 19-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points per game. As for Merritt Island, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-17.
Satellite will take on Port St. Lucie at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Satellite knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Port St. Lucie likes a good challenge. Merritt Island does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
