Pikesville extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 4-9. They came up short against the Dulaney Lions, falling 12-6. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly six runs.
Pikesville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kairee Williams, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was Williams' first of the season. Another was Richie Carlton, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
As for Dulaney, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
On Dulaney's side, Carter Frick made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave Frick a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Cam Michael looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Dulaney let Logan Park and Matthew Rich run wild. Park got on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and four runs, while Rich went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Rich has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Lavine, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pikesville will challenge Lansdowne at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dulaney, they will take on Western Tech & Environmental Science at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
