The Regis Jesuit Raiders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 83-23 win over Westminster on the road. Considering Regis Jesuit has won five contests by more than 21 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Regis Jesuit's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hana Belibi, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. The match was Belibi's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Coryn Watts, who scored 12 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Regis Jesuit pushed their record up to 7-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Westminster, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
Regis Jesuit will be playing in front of their home fans against Cherokee Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westminster won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Chaparral at 5:30 p.m. on January 4th. Chaparral presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Westminster in Colorado (Chaparral is ranked 26th, while Westminster is ranked 97th).
