The Antelope Valley Antelopes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Highland 64-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Defeat or not, Antelope Valley got some senior leadership from Kiwan Sims and Pierce Hill. Sims scored 23 points, while Hill. scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hill has scored all season.
Antelope Valley dropped their record down to 6-18 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home. As for Highland, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Antelope Valley will take on Quartz Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Quartz Hill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Friday. As for Highland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lancaster at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lancaster is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
