The Kingman Academy Tigers suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2023 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Arizona Lutheran Academy on the road and fell 83-53. Kingman Academy has not had much luck with Arizona Lutheran Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the loss, Kingman Academy had strong showings from Cade Benson, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks, and Josh White, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Benson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chase White, who scored nine points.
Noah Draper continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Arizona Lutheran Academy, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Draper has scored all season. Stephan Iron shell was another key contributor, scoring 23 points.
Kingman Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 18-2.
Kingman Academy will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Heritage Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Heritage Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Kingman Academy likes a good challenge. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, they will be playing at home against Mohave Accelerated at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mohave Accelerated will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while Arizona Lutheran Academy is ranked 44th).
