Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eastside). They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over the Castlewood Blue Devils on Thursday. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Emma Sartin was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two hits in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 5-for-5. Those five hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Maddie Compton was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three runs and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Mallory Durham was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Eastside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Castlewood only posted an OBP of .143.
