After a string of eight wins, the Yerington Lions's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 40-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Tahoe. Yerington has not had much luck with North Tahoe recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Yerington's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laney Triplett, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of America Hernandez, who scored seven points.
Yerington's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-8. As for North Tahoe, they pushed their record up to 16-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Pershing County the next time they take the court. Yerington will head out to face Pershing County at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while North Tahoe will host them at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
