Quincy Burns turned in yet another pitching appearance with fewer than two walks surrendered on Wednesday. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Avalon is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-9 otherwise.

Looking ahead, Burns and Avalon will square off against Jackson-Reed at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Black Knights will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 156 places lower in their respective states), but they're not letting that get them down.
