Softball Recap: Mcneil's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After low-scoring totals in their previous five contests, McNeil brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. Everything went their way against the Manor Mustangs on Tuesday as the McNeil Mavericks made off with a 24-12 win. The Mavericks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.

McNeil got a massive performance out of Mia Gallo, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave Gallo a new career-high in RBI (two). Audrey Melnar was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

The victory snapped McNeil's losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 4-8-1 record. As for Manor, their defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McNeil will take on Cedar Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. Cedar Ridge will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something McNeil surely won't give up without a fight. As for Manor, they will challenge Round Rock Westwood at 6:00 p.m. on March 25th. Manor has given up an average of 14.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
