Basketball Recap: Kimball Piles Up the Points Against South Platte

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kimball). They claimed a resounding 82-43 win over the South Platte Blue Knights. The Longhorns have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 29 points or more this season.

Several Blue Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Quinten Koenen, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Jacobs, who posted eight points.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Kimball, bringing their record for this year to 7-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for South Platte, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Kimball will be playing in front of their home fans against Haxtun at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Haxtun is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season. As for South Platte, they will venture away from home to square off against Fleming at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. South Platte also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 53.1 points per game.
