The Antelope Valley Antelopes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss. They fell just short of Palmdale by a score of 71-69. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Antelope Valley still got an impressive performance from Kiwan Sims, who scored 26 points. Sims scored a full 37.7% of Antelope Valley's points, the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Deshawn Lewis was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
It was another big night for Jamari Owens , who scored 38 points for Palmdale. The match was Owens 's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Delouth, who scored 13 points.
Antelope Valley bumped their record down to 3-10 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Palmdale, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-10.
Antelope Valley will square off against Lancaster at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Palmdale will be home for the holidays to greet Highland at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Highland is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
