River City is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Monterey Trail is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The River City Raiders will take on the Monterey Trail Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
River City put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Kennedy 42-0 at home.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead River City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Conner Gardner, who threw for 268 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Amarion Temple, who rushed for 191 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Meanwhile, Monterey Trail sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 24-22 win over Grant on Friday.
River City's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Monterey Trail, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
