On the mound, Torres-Brito struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Meanwhile, Rodriguez-Duran tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. Those four stolen bases gave Rodriguez-Duran a new career-high.

Those six stolen bases gave Bautista-Mota a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Welfry Herrera, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs.
Masterman came out on top against Nueva Esperanza on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive 11-run fourth inning. Masterman blew past Nueva Esperanza 19-4. Masterman has beaten Nueva Esperanza the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Nueva Esperanza has come to flipping the script.
Like Thomas A. Edison, Masterman also got a great game from a two-way player: Gabe Larosa. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Larosa was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Masterman: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-6-1 otherwise.
In other batting news, Athanasios Mondlak was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Noah Seder was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and four runs.
Masterman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nueva Esperanza only posted an OBP of .455.
Thomas A. Edison's record now sits at 11-2. As for Masterman, their record is now 4-6-1.
Masterman's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Thomas A. Edison hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. It's a different story for Masterman, though, as they've only averaged .257. Will they be able to contain Thomas A. Edison's hitters?
Thomas A. Edison might still be hurting after the 16-6 defeat they got from Masterman in their previous meeting back in April of 2015. Can the Owls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
