The Apollo Eagles will head out to square off against the Daviess County Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Apollo will be strutting in after a win while Daviess County will be coming in after a defeat.
On Saturday, Apollo got the win against Logan County by a conclusive 9-3. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won three matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Apollo got a great performance from Carter Kimmel as he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Kimmel has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Sam Holder was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Jackson Carder was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one triple.
Apollo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Logan County only posted a batting average of .160.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Daviess County was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They lost 7-1 to McCracken County. The Panthers have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Daviess County also got a good showing from Parker Wilson, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Wilson gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March.
On the hitting side, Daviess County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Ranburger, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.
Apollo's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Daviess County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
Apollo was able to grind out a solid win over Daviess County in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 5-0. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
