After having lost a blowout to Dundy County-Stratton in their previous game, Perkins County was happy to find some success on Friday. Everything went Perkins County's way against Southwest as they made off with a 50-24 win. That result is just more of the same for Perkins County, who also won the last time these teams played.
Perkins County's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 30 points in the first half. Southwest came up with 6 to make it 30-6 heading into the break. The offense for Perkins County continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 20 points to put the game away.
Senior Alex Patrick, who rushed for 300 yards and 3 touchdowns, was a major factor in the success. Freshman Triston Hite was in the mix, too, providing Perkins County with 3 touchdowns. The win got they back to even at 1-1. The loss started Southwest out at 0-1 for the season.
Perkins County will look to defend their home turf next week against Hitchcock County at 6:30 PM. Southwest are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Kimball next week at 7:00 PM.
