Seymour is 0-10 against Pittsfield since March of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Saukees at 4:30 p.m. Seymour is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Seymour needed a bit of extra time to put away Camp Point Central. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Panthers, sneaking past 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Indians have posted since March 22nd.

Blake Schwartz made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 6.1 innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Schwartz was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Seymour: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-10 otherwise.
In other batting news, Seymour let Lane Barker and Nolan Sparks run wild. Barker got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double, while Sparks went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI. That's the most RBI Sparks has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hunter Miller, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Seymour kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Pittsfield and Routt Catholic, and Pittsfield kept the tradition alive. The Saukees blew past the Rockets 18-10 on Wednesday. The Saukees might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Luke Saxe, who fired off three home runs, five runs, and six RBI while going 4-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Foster, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Seymour is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Pittsfield, their win bumped their record up to 16-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Seymour has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Pittsfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Seymour came up short against Pittsfield in their previous meeting back in April, falling 3-0. Will the Indians have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
