Softball Recap: Simpson Sets Scoring Season-High Against Rapides

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Simpson). They were the clear victors by a 19-5 margin over the Rapides Mustangs on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Broncos needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Simpson moved to 3-7 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Rapides, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Simpson will welcome Plainview at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Plainview has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.45 runs per game on average), something Simpson will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Rapides, they will take on Holy Savior Menard at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
