Beekmantown is 1-9 against Saranac since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Beekmantown comes in on three and Saranac on eight.
Beekmantown will bounce into Monday's game after beating Peru, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Nighthawks on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since April 10th.

Lillian Perry tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Hailey Tripi was excellent, getting on base in four of her three plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Saranac got the win against Northeastern Clinton on Thursday by a conclusive 17-2. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Abby Owen made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Owen was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddie Gagnier, who went 4-for-5 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Abby Liberty was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Saranac hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive matches.
Saranac's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.2 runs over those games. As for Beekmantown, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Beekmantown has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .456. However, it's not like Saranac struggles in that department as they've averaged .462. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Beekmantown might still be hurting after the 13-6 loss they got from Saranac when the teams last played back in April. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
