Softball Recap: Armwood Has No Trouble Against Brandon

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Strawberry Crest, Armwood was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Brandon Eagles as they made off with a 16-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won five matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Dichelle Walker looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She also put up three hits, which were her first of the season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tikema Jackson, who scored four runs and stole six bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Justine Smith was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

Armwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They are 4-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Armwood's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Brandon, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-11.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Armwood will challenge rival Bloomingdale at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Brandon is set to square off against their familiar foe King at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
