The McKean Highlanders had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against ASPIRA Charter by a score of 27-17 on Thursday. The win was just what McKean needed coming off of a 49-19 defeat in their prior match.
McKean's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alexus Barlow, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Barlow hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexia Jeffers, who scored two points along with five rebounds and three steals.
McKean's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-10. As for ASPIRA Charter, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which is still a better percentage than their 1-12 record this season.
McKean will head out on the road to challenge the Rams at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Delaware (Dickinson is ranked 39th, while the Highlanders are ranked 56th). As for ASPIRA Charter, they will be playing at home against the Raiders at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
