Foothill is 2-8 against Chico since October of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Foothill Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Chico Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Foothill has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 190 points over their last five contests.
Last Thursday, Foothill took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 34-6 victory over Red Bluff. The result was nothing new for Foothill, who have now won four games by 20 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Chico got themselves on the board against Pleasant Valley on Friday, but Pleasant Valley never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Vikings 35-0 on the road. The win made it back-to-back wins for Chico.
Dion Coleman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 256 yards and five touchdowns on only 12 carries. Coleman is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played. Troy Sommer also helped out with an impressive 83 receiving yards.
Foothill's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 4-3. They've been dominating across those matchups too: they took their wins by an average of 30 points. Chico has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in six of their first seven matches, giving them a 6-1 record.
Everything came up roses for Foothill against Chico in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 43-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Foothill since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
