South Bend Saint Joseph is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand South Bend Washington a 29-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by six runs or more this season.
Jacob Snyder looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, A.J. LaSane was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with five runs, three RBI, and one double. Those five runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Short, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
South Bend Saint Joseph was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .605. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger was able to grind out a solid win over Fort Wayne Wayne on Thursday, taking the game 4-0.
The team relied heavily on Braden Aguirre, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for South Bend Saint Joseph, their victory bumped their record up to 19-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. South Bend Saint Joseph has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
