After flying high against the Lincoln County Panthers last Friday, the Buffalo Bison came back down to earth. Buffalo fell to Poca 55-50. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Buffalo in their matchups with Poca: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Bison players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jackson Mallett, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Asher Flanery, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Buffalo struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Buffalo's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Poca, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Buffalo will head out on the road to challenge Charleston Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Charleston Catholicpresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Buffalo in West Virginia (Charleston Catholic is ranked fifth, while Buffalo is ranked 55th). As for Poca, they will take on Philip Barbour at TBD on Thursday. Poca is facing Philip Barbour at the right time seeing as Philip Barbour is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
