The South Callaway Bulldogs's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 66-58 win over Westran. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
When it comes to explaining why Westran lost, one person who can't be blamed is Marshall Kitchen. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Trent Brandow, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
South Callaway has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Westran, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-6.
South Callaway will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Russellville at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Westran, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fayette at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fayette is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
