The Danvers Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 71-44 loss at the hands of Peabody Veterans Memorial. Danvers has not had much luck with Peabody Veterans Memorial recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Danvers' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Metivier, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Metivier has scored all season. Jack Scarpaci was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Danvers bumped their record down to 3-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Peabody Veterans Memorial, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Danvers' homestand continues as they prepare to take on Bishop Fenwick at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Bishop Fenwick is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Peabody Veterans Memorial, they will be playing at home against Beverly at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Beverly's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches.
