The Corner Canyon Chargers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 69-68 to Duncanville. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Corner Canyon's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Derelle Desire, who scored 22 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Neibaur, who scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds.
Corner Canyon has fallen quite a ways from their 25-3 record last season and are now at 1-6. As for Duncanville, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Corner Canyon will take on Kimball at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Kimball will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 453rd in Texas, while Corner Canyon is ranked 65th in Utah). Duncanville is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Crowley at 8:00 p.m. on December 12th.
