Even though the Montrose Blue Jays scored an imposing 59 points on Saturday, the Bronaugh Wildcats still came out on top. Bronaugh took their contest against Montrose 66-59. This was payback for Bronaugh, who suffered a 53-43 loss the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bronaugh to victory, but perhaps none more so than Strauss Banes, who scored 25 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Banes has scored at least 25% of Bronaugh's points. Another player making a difference was Tucker Duncan, who scored 25 points along with 6 assists.
Bronaugh's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Montrose, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bronaugh will take on Diamond at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Montrose, they will be playing at home against Drexel at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
