John Carroll Catholic actually scored more points across those five sets (113-109), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-21, 19-25, 19-25, 19-17.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Addie Parks, who had 13 digs. Meghan Childs was another key player, getting 12 digs and two aces.
Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Jensen Beach rose to the challenge on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Brahmans. The win was familiar territory for the Falcons, who have now won three matchups in a row.
Jensen Beach walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-16, 24-26, 25-22.
Jensen Beach's win bumped their record up to 12-13. As for John Carroll Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-2.
