Cocoa Beach hasn't had much luck against Viera recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Minutemen will be taking part in a tournament against the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Cocoa Beach 4, Viera 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Viera will be up against a hot Cocoa Beach squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Everything went the Minutemen's way against Palm Bay on Tuesday as they made off with a 16-7 victory. With that win, the Minutemen brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Jack Meckel was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

In other batting news, Kristian Wolfe was incredible, going 2-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Anthony Ceruti was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.
Cocoa Beach kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palm Bay only managed eight hits.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Viera ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over Heritage.
The team relied heavily on Zak Al-Arashi, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Brody Vogel, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Cocoa Beach's win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Viera, their victory bumped their record up to 15-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Cocoa Beach has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Viera struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Cocoa Beach couldn't quite finish off Viera in their previous meeting back in March of 2021 and fell 2-0. Will the Minutemen have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
