Wake Forest has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Hillside Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Wake Forest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
Last Friday, Wake Forest didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Jordan, but they still walked away with a 32-27 win. Given Wake Forest's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while Jordan is ranked 241st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chiquora Miles was her usual excellent self, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds. Audra Hillman was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Hillside's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They were outmatched by Cresset Christian Academy at home and fell 80-46. Hillside was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-22.
Wake Forest's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Hillside, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Wake Forest ended up a good deal behind Hillside when the teams last played back in December of 2022, losing 55-36. Can Wake Forest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
