The Valley Heights Mustangs will head out on the road to  challenge  the Onaga Buffaloes at 4:30  p.m.  in Monday's  first game. Valley Heights will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
 In what's become a running theme this season, Valley Heights gave their fans yet another huge  win in Thursday's  second game. Everything went their way against Sacred Heart as Valley Heights made off with  a  15-7 victory.
  Paige Miller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 13 batters over  seven innings while giving up  five earned  (and two unearned) runs off   11  hits. Miller has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in seven consecutive pitching appearances. Miller was even better at the plate,  going 5-for-5 with two  stolen bases, four  RBI,  and two  doubles.
 In other batting news,  Maggie Toerber was a standout: she scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Krista Porter, who  scored three  runs and  stole six bases while going 1-for-2.
 Onaga was handed a 15-point  defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against St. Marys in Monday's  second game. Onaga had just enough and edged St. Marys out  5-3. The  win was just what Onaga needed coming off of  a  19-4 loss in their prior  match.
  Bridgett Campbell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.
 At the plate,  Willow Hochstedler was  incredible,  going 2-for-2 with a  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.  Abbie Ringel was another key contributor,  going 1-for-3 with a  home run.
 Valley Heights pushed their record up to 8-2 with that  victory, which was their fifth straight  at home. Those victories were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.4 runs per game. As for Onaga, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record  this season.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  in Monday's  first game as both teams have some strikeout artists on the roster. Valley Heights has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 7.9  strikeouts per game.
