The Carl Junction Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Branson Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carl Junction is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
Last Tuesday, Carl Junction came up short against Carthage and fell 59-50. Carl Junction has not had much luck with Carthage recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Carl Junction saw an underclassman step up: Brody Pant scored 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jett Hocut, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Branson beat Neosho 58-54 on Friday.
Carl Junction now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Branson, they pushed their record up to 7-10 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Carl Junction didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Branson when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 73-67 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carl Junction since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
