It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Aztec Tigers can now relate to. They took a hard 28-14 fall against the Fighting Colts on Saturday. Aztec has struggled against Silver recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Aztec still got an impressive performance from Landan Frost, who rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.
Julian Richard had an outrageously good game for Silver as he picked up 163 receiving yards and four touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Adan Jacquez, who threw for 218 yards and four touchdowns.
Aztec's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Silver, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Aztec does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Silver will head out on the road to face off against Lovington at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lovington will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
