The Leo Lions and the NorthWood Panthers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Leo Lions had to settle for second. Leo fell 45-33 to NorthWood. Leo's defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kylar Decker, who threw for 335 yards and four touchdowns. Kamden Zeisloft was another key contributor, picking up 129 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
NorthWood was led to victory by Landon Perry and Jojo Edmond. Perry rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown, while Edmond gained 105 total yards and two touchdowns.
Leo's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for NorthWood, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Leo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. NorthWood will take on East Central at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. East Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 14 contests -- so hopefully NorthWood likes a good challenge.
