Kennedy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Mather Rangers at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Kennedy suffered their biggest defeat since December 2, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Dunbar 73-31. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Kennedy in their matchups with Dunbar: they've now lost five in a row.
Michael Gallas put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Vincent Carrero was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, Mather pushed their score all the way to 61 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to Von Steuben. Mather has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Kennedy's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-12. Mather's record now sits at 6-14.
Everything came up roses for Kennedy against Mather in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 87-58 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kennedy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
