Eagle Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They were a single  set away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Delta Panthers. The Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won  3-0.
 Eagle Valley wouldn't go down easily and took Delta into a fifth set  but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-21, 25-20, 21-25,  16-14.
 Riley Weatherred paced Eagle Valley's offense, picking up 27 kills. Weatherred got some help from  Ansley Hopper and her 39 assists. Weatherred was also solid from the service line:  she led the team with three aces.
Eagle Valley's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Delta, their win  ended  a  seven-match drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 2-12.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Eagle Valley is set to  take on  their familiar foe Glenwood Springs  at 6:30  p.m.  on  the 21st. Meanwhile, Delta will  face off against  rival Steamboat Springs  at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
