On Saturday, the Snake River Panthers faced the South Fremont Cougars in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Snake River walked away with a 50-40 win over South Fremont. 50 seems to be a good number for Snake River as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Despite the loss, South Fremont still got an impressive performance from Brianne Bailey, who scored 20 points along with seven assists and seven steals. Bailey is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Larson, who scored eight points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Snake River and bumps their season record up to 11-5. As for South Fremont, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Snake River will face off against Marsh Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Marsh Valley is out to stop a ten-game streak of losses at home. As for South Fremont, they will head out on the road to square off against Teton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Teton is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
