Katelynn Quidato spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Madison Foster, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jacobi Gledhill, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Arbor View faced Bishop Gorman in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Aggies narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Gaels 6-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Aggies.
Madilyn Lowy was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one double. Malaya Tellis was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Shadow Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Arbor View, their record is now 18-9.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Shadow Ridge has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .445. However, it's not like Arbor View struggles in that department as they've averaged .444. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Shadow Ridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Arbor View in their previous matchup on Tuesday, winning 5-2. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Aggies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
