The Luther Prep Phoenix posted their biggest win since December 1, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 76-51 margin over Heritage Christian. Luther Prep has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 24 points or more this season.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Morgan Bluhm, who scored 13 points along with six assists and four steals. Bluhm has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Amanda Pike, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Luther Prep's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Heritage Christian, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Luther Prep will take on Lake Country Lutheran at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Lake Country Lutheran's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for Heritage Christian, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Salam at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. Salam's defense has only allowed 29.9 points per game this season, so Heritage Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.
