Meanwhile, Mardela hadn't done well against Pocomoke recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Mardela skirted past Pocomoke 64-62.
Decatur better focus on containing Darion Collins and Jo'Ziah Sherwood as the pair were huge in Mardela's win. Collins dropped a double-double on 27 points and 15 boards, while Sherwood dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 rebounds. The matchup was Collins' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of London Sterling, who posted seven points.
Decatur pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.2 points per game. As for Mardela, their record is now 12-5.
Everything went Decatur's way against Mardela in their previous meeting back in January, as Decatur made off with a 62-42 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Decatur since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
