The Middletown Islanders had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.7 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They walked away with a 21-14 win over Moses Brown. For Middletown, this counts as revenge for the 13-7 defeat Moses Brown walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2022.
Despite the loss, Moses Brown still got an impressive performance from Myles Craddock, who rushed for 175 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry.
Middletown's win was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.6 points per game. As for Moses Brown, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Middletown will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Portsmouth at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Rhode Island (Portsmouth is ranked 18th, while Middletown is ranked tenth). Moses Brown will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on St. Raphael Academy at 6:00 p.m. on November 22nd.
