Wasilla has won four straight games at home, while South Anchorage has won four straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Warriors will host the Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. Wasilla is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Wasilla is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: West Valley, who was ranked 18th at the time (Wasilla was ranked sixth). The Warriors walked away with an 11-7 win over the Wolf Pack on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Wolf Pack: they've now won three in a row.
Ramon Guzman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, South Anchorage sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Chugiak on Saturday. The two-run effort marked the Wolverines' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
David Feigner looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jack Zuspan, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
South Anchorage's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Wasilla, their win bumped their record up to 10-3-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Wasilla has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like South Anchorage struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Wasilla suffered a grim 14-1 defeat to South Anchorage in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
