Point Loma had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They enjoyed a cozy  42-24 win over the Del Norte Nighthawks on Friday. For the Pointers, this counts as revenge for the   20-7 victory the Nighthawks walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in August of 2024.
 Point Loma's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Romeo Carter, who picked up 236 receiving yards and three  TDs. Carter's longest reception was for an incredible 77 yards.  Braden Lane was in the mix  as well, providing Point Loma with three scores.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Point Loma will venture away from home to  challenge Otay Ranch  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Del Norte, they are headed away from home for the first time to  face off against  St. Augustine  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
