Baseball Recap: Jupiter Takes a Loss

Jupiter has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.82 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They came up short against the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders, falling 19-5. It was the first time this season that the Warriors let down their fans at home.

Griffin Miller made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Finnegan, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

This is the second loss in a row for Jupiter and nudges their season record down to 12-5. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-4-1.

Jupiter and St. Thomas Aquinas should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Jupiter will take on Episcopal School of Dallas at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday up 728 places (29 vs. 757). Meanwhile, St. Thomas Aquinas (ranked 27th) will meet Cardinal Gibbons (ranked 122nd) at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
