Soccer Game Preview: Stall vs. St. John's

Stall is a perfect 3-0 against St. John since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the Islanders at 5:30 p.m. Stall's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Friday just wasn't the day for Stall's offense. They came up short against Summerville on Friday, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, Stall can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 128th, while Summerville are ranked 48th).

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, St. John's made sure to put some goals up on the board against Charleston Math & Science last Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over the Riptide. Considering St. John's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Stall's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for St. John's, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Stall got the 'W' when the teams last played back in February against St. John's by a conclusive 8-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
