AA Jefferson recap Nov. 7, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Western Albemarle, who took down 47th ranked Western Albemarle, 32-29.
Monticello moved up to 67 from 97 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AA Jefferson. The Mustangs were able to make move up by beating Lee 33-14.
Charlottesville's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Black Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Rashard Davis has thrown for 795 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Darius Watson has 21 catches for 273 yards. Davis also leads the league in rushing with 1155 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Charlottesville takes on the Warriors. The Black Knights' offense has racked up 297 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Western Albemarle has allowed only 183 on the year.
Charlottesville's Chris Thurston is a mere 62 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Thurston has rushed for 938 yards on 142 carries so far this year.
A big matchup in AA Jefferson this week will be when Louisa County takes on the Warriors. The Lions are currently in fourth, while Western Albemarle is in first.
Monticello extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Fighting Leemen, 33-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Mustangs.
