After a string of three wins, the Coeur d'Alene Vikings's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 53-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sandpoint. The game was a 23-23 toss-up at halftime, but Coeur d'Alene was outscored by Sandpoint in the second.
It was another big night for Aliya Strock, who scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds for Sandpoint. The game was Strock's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Brecken Mire was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Coeur d'Alene's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Sandpoint, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Coeur d'Alene will head out on the road to face off against Moscow at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sandpoint, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Post Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Post Falls will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Idaho Rankings (they are ranked 84th, while Sandpoint is ranked 18th).
